U.S. 395 North Reno Lane Reductions Oct. 6-12 for Bridge Work

CARSON CITY, Nev. – Lanes will be reduced on U.S. 395 in north Reno Oct. 6-12 as the Nevada Department of Transportation continues a project to resurface multiple bridges across the Truckee Meadows.

Drivers will see the following lane reductions on both directions of U.S. 395 from the Reno spaghetti bowl to North McCarran Boulevard beginning Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. through 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12:

DAYTIME 6 a.m.- 8 p.m.  – U.S. 395 reduced to two lanes in each direction

NIGHTIME 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.– U.S. 395 reduced to one lane in each direction

• Travel will still be available on U.S. 395, but drivers are advised to use alternate routes when possible.
• With a continuing, neighboring project to widen sections of U.S. 395 to the north of this area, commuters should leave extra travel time if traveling this section of highway.
• The road work schedule is subject to change.

Crews are performing barrier rail work as part of resurfacing U.S. 395 bridges over Wedekind Road. The bridge improvements are part of a continuing project, launched in May, to resurface nearly one dozen highway bridges across the metro Reno area.

Aging bridge surfaces are being resurfaced with a thin layer of new surface to preserve the interstate surface and provide a smoother drive. Bridge joints connecting the bridges to the interstate will also be replaced as part of routine maintenance.

Drivers will continue to see periodic overnight ramp and lane closures as the following bridges are resurfaced. Roadside signs will advise motorists as work takes place at each individual location.

• Westbound I-80 to southbound I-580
• Southbound U.S. 395 to eastbound/westbound I-80
• Northbound I-580 to westbound I-80
• Eastbound I-80 to northbound U.S. 395

North Reno

• U.S. 395 (both directions) over Wedekind Road- Near U.S. 395 exit 70A to North McCarran Boulevard
• Southbound I-580 ramp to Reno Tahoe International Airport. Airport will remain accessible via Plumb Lane.
• I-80 (both directions) over Wells Avenue- Near Downtown Reno

South Reno

• I-580 (both directions) over South McCarran Boulevard- Near Meadowood Mall
• I-580 (both directions) over South Virginia Street- Near Meadowood Mall
• I-580 (both directions) over South Virginia Street exit 29- Near In N Out Burger
